My Alienware aurora shipped with Windows 7 home premium and I had upgraded to Ultimate some time back. After a while I stopped receiving the Windows automatic updates and tried everything to repair the windows automatic update downloads. Nothing worked. I attempted to repair using the windows installation disk, but what happened was it moved all of my previousl files into a folder titled 'Windows Old'.
All my old files are there, and another user account was created as the primary account. I tried doing a factory reset as indicated in the instructyion manual, but the earliest restoration point was the date the new user account was created. I want to restore to factory state and start fresh, but I cannot restore past the new user account installation date. Can anyone assist?
