Hi Kerkit, It is confirmed that if the Outlook profile is renew, the old.ost cannot be used anymore, and you need to download all the contents when the Outlook connects to Exchange server. A workaround can be running Outlook in Online –however, it might also cause performance issue--or download message header only. Regarding the GUID, or I’d say, the LegacyExchangeDN, for domain-joined client, Outlook 2010 can automatically update Outlook profile if LegacyExchangeDN changed (this may occur if the PrepareMoveRequest script is not 100% fit your environment) and connect to Exchange server successfully. I noticed that you’d mentioned the Outlook hangs after migration, and it is not domain-joined.

Did you ever update Outlook profile after the migration? Please try to update Outlook profile via Control Panel->Mail, retype user name and click “Check Name”. After that, launch Outlook to see if this works. If the issue continues, My suggestion is: 1. Verify user’s LegacyExchangeDN via ADSIedit tool to see if there is any additional letter added in the value.

When does the Outlook hangs? As soon as you launch Outlook, or when user try to open something in Outlook?

Besides not-domain-joined and slow vpn link, any special settings for clients to connect Exchange server? Two different AD sites?

Hi Lasse and Dulip, We are using Outlook 2010. Workstations are not joined to the domain, after user migration we used to edit user's Outlook profile but after that Outlook hung and did not respond - without any error message.

So we have to create new profile for such a user and download all content of his/her mailbox. Yes, it would be perfect if we could use an old ost file, and if Outlook would not resync this file after user authenticate to new AD and after his/her mailbox is moved to new Exchange server. We have Exchange servers in site A and problem occur in site B. Between site A and B we have this problematic slow VPN link.
